Magatama — “Soul-Jewel” Ritual Stone
Before there were shrines, there was the stone. The soul learned its shape from it.
Ten thousand years before the first omamori was sewn, the people of Jomon Japan carved commas of green stone and wore them against the body. The magatama's curled form — head and tail, like a soul folded around itself — became the emblem of spiritual wholeness, one of the three treasures of the imperial line. This piece is carved in that oldest tradition, for those who feel themselves scattered.
